Romilly Park

Bark in the Park 2024 will be held in. Romilly Park, Barry.

Romilly Park is a CADW grade II listed park and has a bowling green, tennis courts, children’s play area, seasonal floral displays and a large open area for recreation.

The park was originally constructed on land belonging to the Romilly family in 1898 and fully completed in 1911. It retains most of the original framework and features. In 1920, the National Eisteddfod of Wales was held in the park near the Gorsedd Circle which still stands today.

Getting Here

Where possible we would ask people to travel to the event via public transport to reduce the events carbon footprint.

Public transport – No.95 and 96 buses, nearest stop Barry Hotel, Broad Street – 500m from park.

Nearest station is Barry Town station, 500m from Romilly Park.

Parking

There is limited on street parking on Romilly Park Road. If you choose to park here, please be respectful of the residents who live by the park.

Bron-Y-Mor Car Park, CF62 6SW.

Just a few minutes’ walk from the park. Parking is free for up to 2 hours and the car park can accommodate 70 vehicles.

Car Park Barry Station, CF62 7AE.

10-minute walk to the park. Parking is free all day and the car park can accommodate up to 124 vehicles.

Harbour road Pay and Display, CF62 5BJ.

15-minute walk to the park. Parking is charged at £6.50 for the day and can accommodate up to 530 vehicles.
