In May 2023, The Rescue Hotel hosted our first-ever Bark in the Park Dog Show at Victoria Park in Barry. The event was a huge success, with over 1500 people and hundreds of dogs in attendance. The event spanned 4 hours and featured a dog show with 5 categories for
people to enter their canine companions.

There was plenty of fun outside the show ring as well, with activities such as Have-a-go agility (with Valleys Dog Behaviour and Training) and the doggy dash. For humans, there were market stalls to browse, food vendors, face painting, lots of walkabout entertainment, and a meet & greet with our very own ambassador and rugby legend, Sam Warburton.

The 2024 event will be even bigger as we move to a new, larger park to cater to the huge crowds that flocked to the previous event.

Entry is completely free, and all proceeds from the day will be go to the beautiful dogs at Cardiff Dogs Home…We’d also love to extend a special invitation to all ex-residents – we can’t wait to see you there!
